My Visit to Cartagena de Indias.

MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCE:

Why should Cartagena definitely be on your bucket list? Cartagena is a mandatory stop for every traveler. It is a place full of history, where the Caribbean vibe and colonial architecture meet. I used to think that one day was enough, but now I know you need more time to see everything.
When I visited Cartagena, I was surprised by its culture, music, and friendly people. At first, I thought one day would be enough to see everything, but later I realized that you need more time to explore the city and enjoy its beautiful places.

WHERE TO GO:

Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas:

This historic fortress is one of the most important landmarks in Cartagena. You must visit this place because it has an impressive structure and a fascinating history. Visitors can walk through the tunnels and learn about the battles that protected the city during colonial times

Getsemaní:

Getsemaní is one of the most colorful and cultural neighborhoods in the city.
You should walk around its streets to admire the beautiful murals and street art. This place is also known for its music, local food, and lively atmosphere at night.

What to Do:

  • If you go to the port, you can take a boat trip to the Islas del Rosario. The water is crystal clear and perfect for relaxing.
  • You should try the local street food because it is very delicious and traditional.
  • If you visit the clock tower, you might see the famous palenqueras selling fruit in traditional dresses.
  • You must dance salsa in a local bar to enjoy the Caribbean culture.

Travel Tips:

You have to wear sunscreen because the sun in Cartagena is very strong.

You should drink plenty of water to stay hydrated during the day.

You must wear comfortable walking shoes because many streets are made of stone.

You must ask for local prices before buying souvenirs to avoid paying too much.
